The Shires Announce Release of New Single 'Echo'

Today, British Country music duo The Shires have announced ‘Echo’ as the third official single to be lifted off their crossover hit third studio album ‘Accidentally On Purpose‘ back in April. The release of ‘Echo’ which a massive fan favourite and acted as their tour opener during their recent run of dates follows ‘Guilty’ and ‘Sleepwalk’ which were both A list on Radio 2.

Speaking about ‘Echo’, Ben Earl and Crissie Rhodes AKA The Shires say:  “Echo is a definitely one of our more Country-pop tracks and inspired by the fun we had in Nashville. It’s the sort of song you have blaring in the car with the soft top down, singing along at the top of your voice. There’s a line in the song about ‘Ripples in a Coffee Cup’ which is a reference to that famous scene in Jurassic Park, but also sums up the feel good vibes of this track – it’s just echoes around you until you sing along.”

The release the single comes ahead of their appearance next month at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park, where they will be supporting Canadian crooner Michael Bublé (13th July). Further cementing their place as one of the UK’s most successful country acts, it has also been announced that Shania Twain has handpicked the duo to appear as special guests at her UK Arena tour, beginning September. The tour will follow a headline appearance at the Country Music festival, The Long Road.

The release of new single ‘Echo’ also continues their incredible success, with their third LP ‘Accidentally On Purpose’ on track to become their third Gold album in 4 years – an accolade in the UK shared only by TV driven acts, including One Direction, Olly Murs and Little Mix.
